The engineering services that are provided by OEG include, but are not limited to, the following:
UTILIZATION OF COMPUTER BASED RESOURCES
Fire Protection System Design – Our fire protection system design capabilities include the design of fire suppression sprinkler systems, fire suppression standpipe systems, fire pump systems, and specialty agent fire extinguishing systems.
Plumbing System Design – The plumbing system design capabilities of OEG comprise the conventional piping systems, such as potable water, sanitary waste, storm drainage, and natural gas distribution, as well as specialty piping systems. Such specialty piping systems include medical/dental vacuum, medical/dental compressed-air, and medical gas systems (e.g., oxygen and nitrous oxide).
Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (“HVAC”) System Design – The HVAC design capabilities of OEG encompass a wide variety of system types including: direct-expansion (DX) split systems, packaged rooftop air-conditioning systems, heat pump systems, air handling unit systems, hot water distribution systems, chilled water distribution system, central boiler plants, central chilled water plants, and computer room air-conditioning systems.
Electrical Lighting System Design – The electrical lighting system design capabilities of OEG include the design of direct and indirect lighting systems, task lighting systems, energy-efficient daylighting systems, and site lighting systems.
Electrical Power System Design – Our electrical power system design capabilities comprise the design of low voltage power distribution systems, high voltage power distribution systems, and emergency power systems with engine-driven generator installations.
Energy Modeling – In order to minimize the operating costs of a building and its detrimental impact on the environment, OEG has the ability to model the total building energy consumption by utilizing a variety of computer-based modeling tools, such as Trane Trace™ 700 and eQUEST®.
Sustainability and LEED® Consulting – OEG is committed to the design of building systems that have a minimal impact on our environment. To that end, we offer sustainability and LEED® consulting services that include: precertification analyses to assess potential LEED® credits, coordination of sustainable elements through the use of design charrettes, energy modeling, the preparation of LEED® documentation and submittals, and building commissioning assessments.
Life-Cycle Cost Analyses – In order to ensure that the total cost associated with mechanical and electrical equipment is accurately evaluated over its entire life span, OEG offers its clients a comprehensive life-cycle cost evaluation for alternative building system designs. The life-cycle cost analysis not only takes into account the purchase price and the installation costs for the equipment, but it also considers the operating costs, maintenance costs, upgrade costs, and the remaining (residual or salvage) value at the end of the useful life of the equipment.
Communications and IT System Design – The electrical system design capabilities of OEG further encompass the design of voice communication systems, such as telephone and intercom, as well as information technology (“IT”) data systems.
Construction Cost Estimation – In order to ensure that building mechanical and electrical systems are designed in accordance with the project budget, OEG offers its clients a comprehensive construction cost estimate for these systems.
Construction Inspections – To ensure that all mechanical and electrical systems are installed as they have been designed, we offer our clients on-site field inspections of all systems under construction. These inspections are used to protect the interests of the building owner by verifying that all mechanical and electrical systems are constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications.
Commissioning – In order to verify that the building mechanical and electrical systems perform as they have been designed, OEG offers its clients commissioning services that include sending one or more of our experienced professionals to the building site for system performance verification.
