Mr. O'Reilly has over 15 years of experience at engineering consulting firms and architectural/engineering firms. Prior to co-founding OEG, Mr. O'Reilly worked as a mechanical engineer for the world renowned architectural/engineering firm of Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill LLP ("SOM") in Chicago, Illinois. While at SOM, Mr. O'Reilly served as one of the primary mechanical engineers on Burj Khalifa (formerly known as Burj Dubai), which is presently the tallest building in the world.
Prior to his engineering position at SOM, Mr. O’Reilly served as a mechanical engineer at HOH Engineers, Inc. (“HOH”) in Chicago, Illinois. And prior to HOH, Mr. O’Reilly held mechanical engineering positions at Communications Engineering Consultants, LLC and Heapy Engineering, LLC, both of which are located in Columbus, Ohio.
Throughout his career, Mr. O'Reilly has worked as a lead mechanical engineer on a plethora of commercial engineering projects, which include high-rise buildings, office buildings, health care facilities, industrial buildings, educational facilities, restaurants, hotels, retail stores, computer/data center facilities, criminal justice facilities, and laboratories. He has substantial experience in the design of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, as well as experience in the design of plumbing systems. He also has considerable experience using computer-related design tools and software packages that increase the efficiency of the engineering design process.
